Professional chefs and aspiring amateurs from across the northeast fired up their best competition Sunday at the annual Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival.
The contestants competed for more than $20,000 in prizes. For the first time, this year's competition was sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.
Judges score each contestant's preparation of four different kinds of meat on appearance, taste and tenderness.
Residents say, though some competitors leave without prizes, no one goes home hungry.
