Crews made a rescue off the coast of Stratford Saturday morning when police say a boat sent out a distress signal after losing power.
Officials say they received a call at around 10:15 a.m. about a boat in the Long Island Sound off of Short Beach.
Authorities say they immediately dispatched emergency crews and rescue boats, who set out on the waves to help the 35-foot boat.
First responders happened to be at Short Beach anyway for the Sterling House 5K mud run. The Coast Guard also helped to bring the people onboard the boat to safety.
Police say the boat lost power and had to be towed in. It's not clear if anyone was hurt.
