A plan to raise Metro-North fares has at least one transit watchdog speaking out.
A member of the Connecticut Metro-North Commuter Council ripped the latest state budget proposal, which cleared the Senate last night as part of a $20.5 billion budget proposal.
Jim Cameron says fares would go up 4 percent in January, the second-straight year Metro-North passengers would see a price hike.
This same increase was pulled from the budget in late March, before being added back in the latest version.
Cameron is concerned the added revenue will not go back to railroad improvements.
