Experts say exercise is critical to a long and healthy life, and one CrossFit program in Norwalk is aiming to do just that for people of all ages, including senior citizens.
When one thinks of Crossfit, a demanding workout and heavy lifting come to mind. But the owner of Kong CrossFit in Norwalk says workouts can be tailored to each member, making it a good fit for those of various ages, including older clients.
Kong CrossFit owner Chris Wyant says the facility has clients who are in their mid-70s. He says CrossFit teaches functional movements, helps with strength building and improves balance and flexibility.
Wyant says seniors seem to like CrossFit because it is a new way to challenge their bodies.
