Thousands of people turned out in Bridgeport Sunday for one of the city's most famous traditions.
The Great Street Parade is a culmination of the Barnum Festival, which celebrates the history of Bridgeport and P.T. Barnum.
Barnum is best known for founding the Barnum and Bailey Circus.
Spectators of the parade say it's a tradition that everyone appreciates.
"You can see the number of people who are out there enjoying, supporting and this is all that we need," said Sharon Maignan, of Stratford. "Everyone coming together and enjoying this."
The parade started at Brooklyn and North avenues and ended at the corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Capitol Street.
