Two local republican registrars are accusing a Connecticut group of filing false voter registration cards.
Officials in Bridgeport and Stamford say they've received thousands of voter registrations from ACORN and nearly half of them have problems.
A 10-page complaint against the group was filed by the Bridgeport registrar, followed by a similar complaint from the Stamford Republicans. Officials from both are now calling for an investigation into ACORN.
Bridgeport Republican Registrar Joseph Borges says most of the fake registration cards he's received came from a massive voter registration drive organized by ACORN.
But according to ACORN official Nicholas Graber, the complaints are an effort to stop people from voting. He says the group has a process of double checking every registration card.
As a result of the complaints, the Republican National Committee held a conference call on the issues and a conservative group in Virginia is calling for the U.S. Attorney General to launch a separate investigation.
