One local lawmaker is attempting to jumpstart construction on the proposed Super 7 Expressway. State Senator Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) is introducing new legislation for the expressway. The decades old plan would upgrade the road to a full expressway between Norwalk and Danbury. Duff says a completed Super 7 expressway is necessary to pump up the area's economy and relieve traffic tie-ups in Wilton. However, state Representative Toni Boucher (R-Wilton) opposes the idea and says she prefers the current plan of widening Route 7. Boucher says she's confident improving train schedules on the Norwalk-Danbury Metro-North line will take more people off the roads and put them on trains.
