As the tension between the U.S. and North Korea continues, one resident is hoping an understanding can be reached between the two.

President Donald Trump warned that there may be military action "should North Korea act unwisely." Trump tweeted: "Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely. Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!"

Jae Kim, of Norwalk, says he hopes diplomacy will work to ease the tension.

"I'm just hoping for a peaceful resolution," says Kim. "I think there are. It's just such a small and heavily populated country in that area that any war  would be devastating, so we're just hoping for a peaceful resolution."

State leaders are also weighing in on the issue. Sen. Chris Murphy wrote an op-ed in the Huffington Post saying it will take more than just tough talk to solve the crisis. He says an actual policy aimed at protecting American allies and stopping North Korea's nuclear weapons program is necessary.
