People across southwestern Connecticut are stunned by the death of 44-year-old Dana Reeve. Reeve, who was known for her devotion to actor Christopher Reeve, died Monday from lung cancer. Reeve?s death stirs sadness and surprise in southwestern Connecticut. Doctor Sal DelPrete, of the Bennett Cancer Center in Stamford, says he's surprised Reeve died so quickly. DelPrete and folks at the American Cancer Society want to stress that while Reeve did not smoke, smoking does increase your chances of developing lung cancer. In fact, 87 percent of lung cancer cases are thought to result from smoking or other exposure to tobacco smoke.
