Gas prices in Connecticut are inching up as a gallon of regular has increased an average of 5 cents in the past two days.
AAA says during the first eight days of the new year, the average price for a gallon of regular gas has increased 8 cents to $1.69 a gallon.
An increase in the wholesale price of gas by 15 cents a gallon since the beginning of the year could be one of the reasons the state is seeing an increase, AAA says.
One year ago Thursday, the average cost for a gallon of gas in Connecticut was $3.29.
