Connecticut is one step closer to allowing alcohol sales on Sundays and some holidays. The state Senate passed a bill yesterday to overhaul some of the state's blue laws. Gov. Dannel Malloy has said he will sign the bill into law, and many expect the legislation will go into effect in a few weeks. The bill will also allow liquor store owners to have up to three stores instead of two and enable owners to cut the price on one item each month by up to 10 percent below cost. Under the new law, grocery stores will be allowed to sell beer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
