As Tropical Storm Isaac churns in the Gulf of Mexico, Connecticut volunteers are preparing to help if the storm causes damage.
The Red Cross in Connecticut says it is sending supplies and volunteers to the Gulf Coast region.
For some residents however, the storm is more worrisome since they have family in New Orleans and the storm is eerily reminiscent of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Christine Jayne, a bartender in Norwalk, says that all of her family lives in New Orleans and weathered Katrina.
She says her family is bracing for impact from the storm which is forecasted to make landfall along the Gulf Coast as a Category 2 hurricane.
