Customers flocked to restaurants Wednesday to enjoy breakfast and lunch as indoor dining areas reopen across Connecticut under new protocols.
Dining areas were closed at restaurants for months during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic in the state.
Customers say they are happy to be back to enjoy meals inside.
However, the enjoyment of indoor dining comes with new protocols and restrictions.
Owners at Chip's Family Restaurant in Fairfield says wearing masks, and gloves is just part of the new normal.
Under state protocol, indoor capacity must be capped at 50%, so that means fewer tables.
Each table must be spaced at least 6 feet apart, and no more than 25 people are allowed in a group.
Workers at Fairfield Pizza in Fairfield used yellow-colored caution tape to block off every other booth in their restaurant to stay within the new guidelines outlined by the governor.
