Danbury mayor runs in costume race to raise money for local food pantries

The mayor is aiming to raise $100,000 to help 14 food pantries in Danbury, which the United Way supports.

The mayor of Danbury and his press secretary ran a race in costumes to raise money for local food pantries.
Mayor Mark Boughton dressed as a chicken and Public Relations Coordinator Taylor O'Brien dressed as a unicorn for their race to the Danbury Public Library.
The event was part of the town's Feeding Our Neighbors Community Challenge.
The mayor is aiming to raise $100,000 to help 14 food pantries in Danbury, which the United Way supports.
United Way says food pantries have been crucial for residents during the pandemic. 
Donations can be made online until the end of the year. Over $80,000 have been raised so far.
