The mayor of Danbury and his
press secretary ran a race in costumes to raise money for local food pantries.
Mayor Mark Boughton dressed as a chicken
and Public Relations Coordinator Taylor O'Brien dressed as a unicorn
for their race to the Danbury Public Library.
The event was part of the town's Feeding Our
Neighbors Community Challenge.
The mayor
is aiming to raise $100,000 to help 14 food pantries in Danbury, which the United Way supports.
United Way says food pantries have been crucial for
residents during the pandemic.
Donations can be made
online
until the end of the year. Over $80,000 have been raised so far.
