State and local leaders held a press conference in Bridgeport Sunday to remind residents about millions of dollars in emergency funding available to help small business owners survive the pandemic.
Officials say the Economic Injury Disaster Loan was given emergency powers under the Cares Act to help businesses keep their doors open.
The federal government adjusted eligibility guidelines, so more business owners can get their hands on up to $150,000 each.

Officials say churches can also apply and will have a full year to make the first repayment at a very low interest rate.
Small business owners and churches have to apply for the loans no later than Sept. 15.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal says he's pushing his colleagues in Congress to extend the deadline for submitting applications.
