The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company made a remarkable rescue Thursday afternoon, saving a deer that had fallen through an iced-over lake on Riverford Road.
The rescue effort took place just before 3 p.m. and involved multiple volunteer firefighters, who worked together to safely retrieve the deer from the frozen lake.
According to reports, the rescue took approximately an hour to complete, and no one was injured during the process.
