The Westfield Connecticut Post Mall in Milford drew crowds for a radio-sponsored baby derby Saturday.
Parents said it?s all about the training. Theresa Welch, of East Haven, and mother of ?Bobby the Bruiser? said, ?We had our morning workouts, then we had our afternoon naps.?
Moms, dads and babies turned out for WPLR Diaper Derby. Fifteen babies less than a year old crawled, sat, and some cried. They named a winner at the finish line.
?I think it's gonna take over, I think it's gonna be a great sport. It's gonna be on ESPN soon,? said Chris Kingston. His son, ?Ryan the Sidewinder,? competed in the race.
The prizes were a huge draw for the parents. A baby called "Speedy Z" won a lawn tractor for his dad. Other prizes included a 32-inch high definition television, a watch and a pair of tickets to see The Police play in Hartford.
