A dog is safe after being rescued from I-95 in Fairfield this morning.
The dog was rescued by Connecticut State Police and a couple of brave drivers in rush-hour traffic.
The dog was on the highway between exits 23 and 24.
Police say they're looking to find its owner and are keeping the canine at the Fairfield Animal Shelter for the time being.
The Fairfield Animal Shelter says it has already gotten calls from people wanting to adopt the dog, but that they are still working to find the dog's owner.
