State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff has announced the Department of Transportation and two local businesses have reached a compromise in the controversial plans to replace the walk bridge in Norwalk.
The DOT planned for Coastwise Boatworks and the Maritime Rowing Club to leave their current location by the end of the year.
But the new compromise gives them until Mar. 31 of next year.
The DOT is spearheading the replacement of the 120-year-old Walk Bridge, which has gotten stuck several times in the past few years, keeping trains from crossing the Norwalk River.
