Dozens of people took part in Milford's first ever Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk on Sunday.
Organizers say they wanted to put on this walk because Milford has had several suicides in the past few years.
The goal of the event was to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health help that is available.
Laura Gonzalez, a junior at Jonathan Law High School, was one victim of suicide in the community.
Some participants chalked her name before the start of the walk.
A large group of Gonzalez's former classmates were walking in her honor.
