Several stores at the Westfield Connecticut Post Mall in Milford are closed Monday night after a drywall facade fell earlier in the day, sending one man to the hospital with minor injuries.
More than 200 feet of drywall peeled off the front of the stores Motherhood and Gymboree at around 11:30 a.m. The collapse left signs dangling, wires disconnected and debris on the ground. The man who was injured was walking by when the drywall fell.
Firefighters say they?re glad the collapse happened when the mall was relatively empty. Building inspectors are trying to figure out why and how it happened.
