Two iconic ice cream shops on the East End are serving up summer by the scoopful.
At Snowflake in Riverhead, "Peconic Swamp Thing" is a popular flavor. They're also known for their 1950s-style milkshakes.
Further east, Magic Fountain in Mattituck is known for its tasty cakes and its handmade, creamy concoctions. Stick to the classics, or try new flavors such as honey and fig.
