Kenya Williams and her son live in an apartment directly under where a homicide took place on Oct. 22.
Williams told News 12 she is still dealing with issues pertaining to that apartment.
Miguel Batiz was killed on Oct. 22. While he was alive, Willliams reported several incidents where she heard violent fighting upstairs. She also said Batiz left the water on often, which would cause flooding in her apartment.
After his death, Williams said she noticed what appeared to be biohazardous liquid leaking from her ceiling. She believes this was from when the crime scene was cleaned. She said she's been waiting for a transfer for months, but has not yet received one.
"I've been on a waiting list on Sept. 5. This man has now passed away, and I'm still dealing with the drama. It's not drama. It's anxiety. It's trauma," Williams said.
Williams told News 12 she's tired of dealing with water damage in her apartment, and she doesn't want to deal with the trauma she endured while living there. She's calling for an immediate transfer.
News 12 spoke with the building's management. A spokesperson said an expert cleaning company cleaned the apartment above Williams, and she'll be moving on Friday temporarily for reconstruction while upgrades are being made to her apartment and the building.
