Volunteers are working to restore war planes and save the Stratford museum where the restoration takes place.

The Connecticut Air and Space Center is located on U.S. Army property, which is slated for re-development.

World War II and Korean War-era planes and helicopters are on display for the first time in Connecticut. They include planes used to train pilots as well as helicopters used for medical evacuations. It?s all thanks to dozens of volunteers who work countless hours to preserve a piece of history.

Some officials are working to designate the area as a historical site to prevent it from being developed. They say a meeting will be held October 11 to discuss the designation.
