Election Day 2025: Here’s what New York City voters need to know

Is it good voting weather?

It’s expected to be bright and breezy. Sunny skies with some clouds. Highs in the lower 60s, lows in the middle 40s. Good voting conditions. Check out the News 12 weather page for updates.

Who’s on the ballot?

Headlining the slate of New York City elections is the mayoral race. Frontrunning Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, Republican Curtis Sliwa and independent candidate Andrew Cuomo are vying to run the biggest city in the nation.
Also on the ballot are candidates for district attorney, comptroller, borough president, as well as several proposals.

Where can I vote?

The NYC Board of Elections has you covered. Enter your address and it will show you the closest polling place. There is also a wait time map to track how busy sites are.

When do the polls open/close?

New Yorkers can head to the polls after 6 a.m. They close at 9 p.m.
