There were improvements on the power outage front Tuesday as conditions eased from the October nor’easter.
Eversource and United Illuminating have been updating their outage numbers on their websites throughout the storm.
Even though the rain let up, Eversource says the wind will continue to be a big problem.
Last year, the utility paid a $28 million fine for its slow response to Tropical Storm Isaias. Customers will also get credits on their December and January bills.
Since then, Eversource has made a lot of changes. It has a new online "Municipal Hub" so towns can share real-time damage information, and the utility now has dedicated "Public Safety Teams" to clear out power lines faster.
