The state attorney general is investigating a Fairfield animal charity for conduct that officials describe as hardly animal friendly.
Police removed 129 dogs Thursday from a filthy, cramped home on Eastfield Drive. One of the animals is reportedly in serious condition. Robin D?urso, who ran Companions for Life out of her home, is charged with 12 counts of animal cruelty and is expected in court August 8.
Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal says fraud charges may follow. He is urging anyone who donated to Companions for Life to contact his office at 860-808-5314.
