A local bridge in Fairfield has been renamed to honor a well-known businessman.

The Fairfield bridge is now the David Campbell Bigelow Memorial Bridge.

A renaming ceremony was held Monday morning at Bigelow Tea headquarters.

The bridge carries Black Rock Turnpike over the Metro-North Railroad.

State Sen. Tony Hwang said the tribute is a fitting honor.
