A local business marked an emotional milestone Thursday two years after opening its doors at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kim Mulas and Alberto Felix say they threw their life savings into their Italian restaurant on Post Road in Fairfield at a time when many people told them it could only fail.
But they say in spite of the pandemic, Luna Azzurra, has been a huge success.
The co-owners say they didn't take any government relief and relied on hard work, along with support from friends and family.
