Fairfield residents will have to wait a bit longer on whether Chick-fil-A will come to town.
A public hearing on whether a Chick-fil-A will be built in Fairfield was continued to next month.
Tuesday night's Planning & Zoning Commission meeting lasted nearly three hours.
Chick-fil-A is trying to replace the former Joe's American Bar & Grill on the Post Road which closed before the pandemic.
A barbershop is also on the property.
Both buildings would need to be knocked down.
The barbershop closed a few weeks ago as a result and relocated to Southport.
More traffic pattern information will be heard at the next meeting.
The public will also be allowed to weigh in.
The hearing will take place on Sept. 14.
