Kids in Fairfield helped to make local wishes come true on Friday.
Fairfield Country Day held their annual Skate-A-Thon and Hoop-A-Thon.
Students either skated laps or shot hoops to raise money for Make-A-Wish Connecticut.
The more laps skated or shots made, the higher the donations.
The goal for this year was to raise $10,000.
Make-A-Wish officials say they are grateful for the school's long standing support.
"Their students their faculty their staff showing up year after year. Their families coming together the whole community really rallying around what we do and to help make make wishes come true we can't put it into words. it's absolutely imperative that we get the support we need to help make all these wishes come true. We have over 300 wishes that are currently waiting to be granted," says Christina Alt, senior community development manager for Make-A-Wish Connecticut.
Since the event started 17 years ago, the school has raised more than $195,000.
