Thousands turned out in Bridgeport Sunday for the city’s annual Puerto Rican Day Parade.
The procession stepped off from Central High School and headed down Park Avenue.
Marchers from across the state paid tribute to Puerto Rican history, culture and their signature community spirit.
"The fire department, the police department, all come together in a positive environment to just experience and celebrate the culture of Puerto Rico,” said Ariana Loyola, of Bridgeport.
"Happy to be here, happy to be a part of this, to let everybody know exactly how it is and what America is all about. This right here is it,” said Wayne Winston, of Bridgeport.
