Fairfield's Department of Public Works spent Tuesday preparing for more snow as crews continued cleaning up debris from previous storms.
The DPW said 200 of the town's 275 miles were impacted by the nor'easter two weeks ago. With a snowstorm on top of that a week later and one coming Wednesday, crews have been forced to juggle storm cleanup with storm preparations. And now crews are switching gears yet again.
"All the trucks that have been stripped to all brush are now being put back together," said Fairfield DPW Superintendent Scott Bartlett. "Plows on, chains on and salt loaded, so it'll be ready for tonight and tomorrow morning."
The department said storm debris cleanup will resume Friday at the earliest, although that also depends on how severe Wednesday's storm is.
The DPW is only responsible for picking up limbs that fell from town trees, or limbs that the electric company cut and put on private property.
