Fairfield police reached new heights Monday in an effort to raise money for a good cause.
An officer was put on top of a lift 20 feet in the air outside of Chip's Family Restaurant on Tunxis Hill Cut Off.
It was part of the department's Cop on Top fundraiser to benefit the Special Olympics.
News 12 is told the officer stayed on the lift until the department was able to hit its target of $5,000.
Police say officers will also help with the Special Olympics torch run scheduled for June.
