Fairfield school officials ban e-bikes, other motorized devices on school property
Effective immediately, anyone under the age of 16 year old and who do not possess a valid Connecticut's driver’s license are prohibited from having motorized vehicles, devices including e-bikes, e-scooters, pedal-assist units, mopeds and motorcycles on school property.

Fairfield Public School officials are cracking down on e-bikes and other motorized devices on school grounds.
Effective immediately, anyone under the age of 16 years old and who do not possess a valid Connecticut's driver’s license are prohibited from having motorized vehicles, devices including e-bikes, e-scooters, pedal-assist units, mopeds and motorcycles on school property.
District officials say over the past months, they have seen an increase in serious accidents involving electronic transport, such as e-bikes and e-scooters.
Doctors say they have also seen more injuries from e-bikes than motorcycles this year.
Officials say if students bring prohibited motorized devices to school, a family member is required to pick it up and they will receive an automatic in-school suspension.
