A rising senior at Fairfield Warde High School is helping those less fortunate one donation at a time.

With the help of family and friends, Joseph Drew, of Boy Scout Troop 82, helped create a roadside food pantry in Fairfield's Historic District.

People can donate non-perishable food items like macaroni and cheese, rice, and canned beans for others to take free of charge.

"It's already been a great success within the church," Drew says. "It's benefitted so many people already and so many people come over here and take what they need and give what they can."

The blessings box is located outside the First Congregational Church in Fairfield.

The church says people can also donate diapers and baby formula for those in need.
