Memorial Day is a somber day for residents across southwestern Connecticut who mourn the loss of loved ones who served this country.
Every Memorial Day, Joyce Bruno, 82, and her son Louis place a flag at the gravesite of her father who served in World War I.
Bruno says she's been visiting his grave and paying her respects for his service for more than 60 years.
She says it hurts her to see people miss the meaning of the holiday.
