The family of a Bridgeport man who was shot and killed over the weekend is asking for the public's help in paying for his funeral.
Juvontee Tinsley was killed Saturday evening. Police say that he walked up to a car parked on Ohio Avenue before someone inside it fatally shot him in the chest and sped away.
Sarita Tinsley, his mother, says that she sent her son to a ministry in Hawaii two years ago to get him away from the local streets, but he was ultimately drawn back.
Tinsley runs a home in Bridgeport for women in crisis, so she says she understands how powerful the lure of the streets can be.
Juvontee Tinsley's wake will be Friday at Luz de Paz Funeral Home, and then he will be buried at Park Cemetery.
