A 93-year-old Bridgeport woman who beat COVID-19 got to see her family for the first time since being hospitalized with the disease.
Rose Santilli was allowed to see her family Thursday after a six-week battle with COVID-19.
Her son and daughter received a heartwarming message at 7:28 a.m. that their mom had finally tested negative for the second time, clearing the way for their first in-person visit since the painful ordeal began.
Santilli is a retired real estate agent living at Jewish Senior Services in Bridgeport.
Thomas Santilli says he had no doubt, even in the darkest hours, that she would pull through.
"Actually for me there was never a doubt. I knew she was going to beat it, I believed in her, she's a fighter and she showed it," Thomas Santilli said.
Rose Santilli did not know she was going to see her family until moments before the meeting.
