The family of a Bridgeport man who recently died following a stabbing in September spoke publicly for the first time about the murder Wednesday.
Erick Lopez, 32, was walking near Fairfield and Howard avenues on Sept. 2 when he was stabbed in the chest.
Lopez's family says Erick was a loving father of four who had his whole life in front of him. They say he was hospitalized for weeks after the stabbing. At one point they thought he was going to pull through, but he passed away on Oct. 22.
His family says they hope that investigators will hear their calls for justice and make an arrest in the case.
Police tell News 12 Connecticut that their investigation "remains very active," and they are still welcoming tips from the public, especially from witnesses.
