A Bridgeport father says he met with the Department of Children and Families this morning after he claims a teacher's aide assaulted his 10-year-old son at Watersville Elementary School.
School officials confirm there is video of the incident and say they've already turned it over to police.
They boy's parents say they haven't seen the video yet, but they claim their son was choked by a behavioral therapist. School officials say the incident allegedly happened last month, but they became aware of the allegations last week when the parents complained.
"It upsets me, it definitely bothers me and at the end of the day I want to just go about it by the right way, so I want to bring some attention to the story and to make sure the appropriate action is taken against the people who did this," said the boy's father.
School officials say the employee is on paid leave until further notice.
The Bridgeport School District and Bridgeport police say they are investigating the alleged incident.
