A Bronx man was arrested Monday and charged with arson in connection with the March 22 fire that destroyed several Westchester Square businesses.
William Crean, 40, has been charged with second-degree arson and reckless endangerment. The FDNY Bureau of Investigation and federal agents probing the incident say the flames started inside 21 Latin Lounge before spreading to five adjoining stores.
Authorities estimate the fire caused about $2 million in property damage. Three firefighters also suffered non-life threatening injuries while extinguishing the flames.
If convicted, Crean faces up to 25 years in prison.
