Festivus may be weeks away, but the celebration was in full swing Sunday at Penfield Pavilion in Fairfield.
The event featured 40 local vendors setting up shop for the holiday bazaar. It had been held in Bridgeport for the past two years but moved to Fairfield this year for more space and waterfront views.
Thanks to the weather, most of those plans went out the window. Instead of complaining, vendors embraced the Festivus spirit and worked together to make the event a success.
"Vendors actually approached each other like hey can we actually just move a couple inches this way so we can squeeze in, and now, we've actually made it feel even more of a tight-knit community feeling instead of being stretched out," said Chad Anderson, the event's creator. "It just actually works together, and that's what the whole thing is about."
Organizers say things went so well there's already talk of hosting another Festivus bazaar in the spring.
