The man accused of gunning down a couple in their Fairfield jewelry store made his first appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court Monday.
Chris DiMeo, 25, was extradited from New York last Friday and brought back to the Fairfield Police Department. He's accused of murdering Tim and Kim Donnelly in February 2005. About 20 members of the Donnelly family and friends were in the courtroom. They stared at the suspect, but DiMeo didn't look at them at all.
Bridgeport State's Attorney Jonathan Benedict says his department has not decided if it will seek the death penalty in this case.
DiMeo has been assigned a defense team. He's due back in court on April 10.
