The Bronx's Ethical Culture Fieldston School is gunning for its second-straight chance at the New York Metro Lacrosse Tournament championship title.
Fieldston, which lost the title to Poly Prep last year, is one of several Bronx teams in the tourney. The third-seeded Eagles are riding a 12-game winning streak. The team will play the winner of the Stepinac-New Dorp game in the quarterfinals.
The Horace Mann School came into the tourney as the 15th seed after a 7-7 season. Horace Mann will take on number two Portledge in the first round.
Fordham Prep finished second in the Catholic League with an 11-3 record. The seventh-seeded Rams will face off against the defending champ, Poly Prep, in the first round.Riverdale opened the playoffs Wednesday against Iona Prep. Iona's Mike O'Hagan racked up 6 goals and 2 assists, helping lead his team to a 16-6 victory.
