Fire officials say flames tore through a strip of businesses on White Plains Road early Sunday morning.
The management company of the property says the fire started at a restaurant before spreading to other stores. Some merchants spent Sunday afternoon repairing minor damages to their shops and say they will be open for business on Monday, while others say their shops sustained extensive damage.
According to store owners, the electricity has been turned off to the entire property and an accountant whose office is in the strip says he was told power may not be restored for five days.
This is the second fire to hit the businesses in four months. The same property was damaged by fire in December 2008 and forced to close for an entire month.
