Fire in Bridgeport displaces 10, one rescued from third floor

In total, eight adults and two children were displaced as a result of the incident.

A late-night structure fire broke out on Lincoln Avenue on Sunday around 10:05 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters say they identified an active fire on the building’s third floor.

They safely removed one occupant from a third-floor porch using a ground ladder. The individual was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.

In total, eight adults and two children were displaced as a result of the incident. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to those affected.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s Office.
