Five adults and an infant were displaced by a fire Saturday afternoon at a multifamily home in Bridgeport.

It happened around 3 p.m. on the 1000 block of Howard Avenue.

Upon arriving on the scene, the Engine 4 crew saw heavy smoke emitting from the home and began to put out the fire. It was under control within 30 minutes with no reported injuries.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

It was not immediately clear how the fire started.
