A single-car crash Thursday morning left a person dead and a historical building damaged.
The car crashed into the Quaker Meeting House in Manhasset on Thursday morning.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was badly burned, according to police. They say it appears the car left Northern Boulevard before hitting the building and bursting into flames.
The historical structure, built in the 1800s, is still actively in use but was empty at the time of the crash.
Police are asking anyone who may have more information about the crash to contact them. They say the car is registered to a 41-year-old man in New Rochelle.
