Officials say two adults and four children were evacuated after a fire tore through the second floor of their home.

It happened on Hawthorne Street in Bridgeport, just after midnight.

Fire officials tell News 12 that the homeowner noticed smoke coming from the back of a TV. The flames than quickly spread to other items in the house.

Officials also say there is heavy smoke, fire and water damage the second floor.

Officials say there were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
